“Wait, is this a video?”
To me, filming has always been an act of love. Even in the digital age, hitting record means that this moment is beautiful and deserves some piece of eternity.
I want to be a part of it all. I’m primarily a Director of Photography, but I’m also an Editor. I’ll compose the score, but I’ll love compositing in my vfx work. I thrive in an artistic space, but I prosper in one that requires technicalities, gear knowledge, and troubleshooting.
By the time I’d graduated from Kenyon College in 2020, I’d received Bachelors in Film and English Literature, worked on and directed numerous student projects using professional equipment and software, and even started a filmmaking club.
The pandemic isolation led me to learn to make projects for myself and my friends, to help my sanity and to help keep us together. The process helped define the emotion -forward work that I find important and necessary in the world.
I also discovered how much I enjoy working in teams, and some of the work I’m most proud of has been made in collaboration with my longtime friend and creative partner, Jacob Gusentine.
My work has been featured in the Washington Post Magazine, as well as Film Festivals including, IndieX in California, ZEBRA Poetry Festival in Berlin, Magnolia Festival in Mississippi, and the Utah International Film Festival.
If you’d like to get in touch, I’m based in Brooklyn, NY. Shoot me an email! I’d love to talk.
